OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
The deal is done. We closed escrow yesterday. I am now the homeowner of the hilltop cottage on Cabrillo Circle! I got such a great price and interest rate that my mortgage payment is the same as my rent was. But I had to pinch pennies so hard to close this deal.....you might not expect extravagant gifts from me for Christmas this year.
Now I have plumbing to improve, wiring to re-wire, fences to tear out, trees to prune, windows to replace, furniture to buy, remodelers to contact, grading and cement work, a deck to build, ........oh and I need a chimney sweep. A whole new set of problems I am so lucky to have. Ohhhh, and I also need to make a special bed for Quincy when he comes to visit. love Grandma

October 2010
Hi Quincy!
I had a great weekend. First I got to go to my friend's birthday party. Her name is Nona Seech. she is 90 years old!!!! I am very lucky to have such a fun friend to play with. We had a marvelous Italian dinner out on the patio with delectible food, accordian music, and lots of fun people.
Then on sunday, I drove up to the desert to see Auntie Chet because she was serving pizza at a really fun music festival in Joshua Tree. Her friend Megan's mom was there also. We had a fun time enjoying the summer-like warmth, bluegrass music, and groovy people. Here we are celebrating "pizza gypsy mother and daughters", We opened a bottle of bubbly for the occasion.

End of August

Hi Quincy
I'm back at school now. Summer seems to be ending. Cool weather is back. aunt Chuck and Griffin visited last weekend. We went to the zoo. I bought a membership, so you and I can go sometime soon. My friend Brian and i went for a hike today on palomar mountain. We hiked 6 miles, saw a lot of birds, and ate egg salad sandwiches. I love you. grandma

Summer!!!!

Hi Quincy. I've had lots of fun in July. I got invited on a surprize motorcycle trip. My friend Matt drives fast by many beautiful places and this is what i see from the back of a motorcycle. This time Big Sur, Monterrey, Yosemite, Sonora Pass...and more. Sorry Aunt Chuck, we wanted to go to San Francisco/Marin County but that put us on a different time line. We are planning another time for that trip.Sunday, April 25, 2010

Hi quincy
I had a great weekend. Great grandma and I went to lunch. I found more interesting ways to cook zucchini. I visited the abominable snowman in Ranchita. I had your uncles Gunnar, Rich, and Tyson over for Swiss chicken, mashed potatoes, and (you guessed it) zucchini and yellow crookneck squash from my garden. Oh, and Cicely, I tried a new recipe for flourless chocolate mocha mousse cake. It was the greatest! Have a good week. love you....grandma

I just had a wonderful time attending a conference in Monterey. I went for walks along the coast and saw seals long the beach. I had dinners and wine tasting with a couple of fellow speech pathologists (see us with our plates in front of us). When I got home, I was called to a girlfriend get-together with old high school friends (there I am next to my friend Brenda in purple). Friends are the best thing next to grandchildren! I love you. your grandma
